With a gale blowing up, ferry sailings at both ends of the Western Isles face disruption
over Thursday.
CalMac warns rough seas and strong winds may affect the Stornoway - Ullapool timetable
during much of the day.
Winds are set to strengthen tonight (Wednesday) at the same time MV Hebridean Isles
is expected to carry out a freight run between the ports. Forecast conditions may
exceed her operational limits.
All passenger sailings scheduled for MV Isle of Lewis are on yellow alert with force
eight wind speeds impacting the Minch until Thursday night.
The Lochboisdale - Oban - Castlebay service is also liable to disruption or cancellation
at short notice with bad weather anticipated for the relief link over the day.
